From North / Northeast:

There are two options for those coming from regions north of Salvador:
a) Going through Salvador (BA). In Salvador, take the ferry boat to Bom Despacho (Island of Itaparica), then head to Valença towards Itubera.
b) Going on BR 101. Go straight on BR 101 and after the city of Santo Antônio de Jesus (on the banks of BR 101), take to Nazaré and go to Valença and Itubera.

Coming from the South / Southeast:

São Paulo and Southern States.
There are 2 options for those who come from the state of São Paulo or the states of the South Region of the country:
a) Going by Vitória da Conquista (BA) BR 116. Belo Horizonte (MG) – Gov. Valadares (MG) – Teófilo Otoni (MG) – Vitória da Conquista (BA). Continue to BR 101, at Itabuna (BA). Continue on BR 101 in the direction of Salvador until Travessão (the margins of BR 101) and follow in the direction of Camamú, Itubera.
b) Going through Rio de Janeiro (RJ) BR 101 – Follow BR 101 in the direction of Salvador until the height of Travessão (the banks of BR 101) and follow in the direction of Camamú, Itubera.

Minas Gerais:
The state of Minas Gerais offers several access options. Two of them can be considered as main:
a) Going through Montes Claros (MG). Passing through Salinas (MG), follow to Vitória da Conquista (BA) and take the BR 101 at Itabuna (BA). Follow BR 101 towards Salvador until the height of Travessão (the borders of BR 101) and follow in the direction of Camamú, Itubera.
b) Going by Governador Valadares (MG). Passing through Teófilo Otoni (MG), follow to Vitória da Conquista (BA) and take BR 101 at Itabuna (BA). Continue on BR 101 in the direction of Salvador until the height of Travessão (the margins of BR 101) and follow in the direction of Camamú, Itubera.

There are 2 basic options for those who leave the regions near Brasilia and Goiânia:
a) Going through Montes Claros (MG). Brasilia – ParacatÚ – Pirapora – Montes Claros. Passing through Salinas (MG), follow to Vitória da Conquista (BA) and take the BR 101 at Itabuna (BA). Follow BR 101 in the direction of Salvador until the height of Travessão (the margins of BR 101) b) Going through Barreiras (BA). Brasília – Alvorada do Norte – Barreiras. Continue to Itaberaba, and take the BR 101 at the height of Santo Antônio de Jesus. From there follow a few more kilometers by BR 101 towards Itabuna and turn left to Valença and follow to Itubera.
This option is similar and optional to Bom Jesus da Lapa and is a bit more distant, but depending on road conditions at the end of the year, it can become a viable option.

Other states in Brazil:
The ideal for those who come from more distant states is to observe and research about some of the roads above and make the itinerary that suits you best.
It is important that you consult road guides which are updated at the time of the Festival to know the conditions of the roads and thus choose the best route.
